CONFESSION AND ABSOLUTION
The elements of Confession & Absolution are listed in the order they appear in the Divine Service in the left column and the description of them is in the right column.

Hymn of Invocation This hymn is sung at the beginning of the Service. Its purpose is to establish the theme of the day and to prepare the people to call upon God (Invocation) for Divine Service.
Invocation The invocation begins with "In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit," and ends with "grant us forgivness"
Confession The Confession begins with "our help is in the name of the Lord', then a silence for reflection on God's word and for self examination, then the corporate confession starting with "I,a poor miserable sinner"...and ending with "be gracious and merciful to me, a poor sinful being".
Absolution The Pastor faces the congregation and begins by saying "upon this your confession..." and ends with "in the stead and by the command of my Lord Jesus Christ, I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit", making the sign of the Cross.
The Hymns These are listed in the Lutheran Service Book by number, and a prceeding "#" before the number in the video. They number between #331 and #966. They present with music the gospel, praise of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the instruction in the elements of our faith. Special blessings are found with the singing of these hymns.
